Seven Techniques to Get Targeted Traffic

There's a big difference between getting traffic to your website and getting targeted traffic. You need visitors that have the same frame of mind as you; People that are looking for what you have to offer. This is called "Targeted Traffic."

1} Focus

If you’re selling ink cartridges, you don't need to be selling gardening supplies. Stay focused on ink related things. Explain the difference between laser and jet printers. Offer your visitors a tutorial on the correct way to change cartridges. Let your visitor know the various types of ink and which is best to use on what project.

2} Keyword

When people are searching for a product they are looking for one keyword. If they type the word "ink cartridge" in their search engine; then that is the product they want to buy. 3} Long Term Techniques

When you write articles and submit them to various directories, you are using a long term method of generating traffic. Even short "How to" articles submitted will keep bringing visitors because they are always online and always being read by visitors that are interested in knowing how to do a certain things. SEO, link exchange, forum posting, banner exchanges, and commenting on blogs is another method of getting and keeping long term visitors.

4} Paid to Click {PTC} & Paid to Read {PTR}

Companies generally use these methods when they need to get more customers to visit their sites. So they pay PTC and PTR programs a certain amount of money when ever members click and visit their sites. You get paid to click or paid to read that companies advertisement. It's a win-win situation.

5} Build Your own Opt-in-List

Design a squeeze page offering a product or special report to your visitors. Start a newsletter on the topic you are involved in. There is free mailing list providers that can get you started; but once you reach a certain amount of subscribers most of the mailing list providers will start charging per email you send out. But, by then your list should be productive enough to make it worth the while of paying a bit more.

6} Safelists

Safelists allow you to send your ad to thousands of 100% opt-in entrepreneurs who are interested in internet marketing and/or selling their product or program. One of the bad things about some safelists is that you get bombarded by lots of fellow internet marketers trying to get you to join their program or buy their product.

7} Leads

Buying leads is a great way to get a list of people’s names, addresses and email addresses who are interested in what you have to offer. If you need traffic for your debt consolidation website you can buy leads for people who have requested information on debt consolidation. You have to research this method of getting traffic because there are a lot of people that will sell you outdated leads.
